Hyun Jung (Katie) Oh, Naturopathic Doctor (ND)
I graduated from Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea in 2005 with majors in Indian Philosophy and Buddhism. I then ventured to Toronto, Canada, and entered the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. It was there that I found my true calling, discovering genuine, lasting inspiration in the school’s philosophy, curriculum, faculty, and student body. I graduated as a Naturopathic Doctor in 2011, a recipient of the David Warkentin Memorial Award for excellence in homeopathic medicine.
Of naturopathic medicine’s numerous therapeutic modalities, I gravitate towards traditional, gentle and simple treatments that respect a holistic approach to the patient’s health conditions. I strongly believe in achieving sustainable health by establishing balanced eating habits and lifestyles. However, when there is a long-lasting condition hindering us from realizing that healthy state, or when our body has to recover from acute illness or a stressful situation, we need rebalancing therapies. In those cases, I stimulate and assist the body’s healing will using specific foods, hydrotherapy, homeopathic medicine, and/or Bach flower essences.
Countless studies and our own daily life experiences have identified chronic stress as a chief hindrance to good health. To relieve a patient’s chronic/acute stress, I employ various relaxation techniques. More importantly, I provide patients with the practical tools to deal directly with their daily stress.
Naturopathic medicine can serve as a vital element of your integrated health care plan. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I am eager to meet you and work together with you along your journey towards true wellness.
